Ed Richfield is a Consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, with a sub-specialty interest in movement disorders.
He recently finished a 3 year clinical fellowship at hull York Medical School, supported by the Dunhill Medical trust, with the PhD question “Palliative care for Parkinson’s disease: Developing a needs assessment tool”. During his research fellowship he has spent time working within the movement disorders service at Scarborough hospital which, alongside colleagues from St Catherine’s hospice, operates one of the first integrated PD palliative care services. He has been involved in the development of local PD palliative care services and was an invited delegate at the recent JPND (eU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research) workshop on palliative and end of life care for neurodegenerative conditions. He is on the faculty for the International PD palliative care working group.
