by Dr Margaret Bulling

The aim of this project was to improve nursing knowledge about the management of patients with Parkinson’s disease both in inpatient and residential care settings.

I developed a series of educational modules for nursing staff and undertook an assessment of its effectiveness.

Evaluation of ‘Nursing’ Session:

The education sessions generally improved knowledge of Parkinson’s disease. Education sessions are now to be given in other inpatient and residential care settings. Educational sessions have continued to be refined and delivered but there has not been a further audit as yet.
